From Sasha
Even to those of us like me, who haven't seen the inside of a classroom since last Millennium, this time of year feels charged with a creative energy. As the mercury drops a teeny bit lower every night, I can feel the surge of new projects and ideas welling up inside, and I want to be ready for the Autumn creature that is dreaming herself into being.
That means preparing on every level, and my wardrobe is not excluded: far from it, I've been shopping like a maniac. But I have been shopping for you, too, my dears! Here is the first installment of my amazing Scores from this weekend.
First of all, love love love the design on this dress, which reminds me of the Art Nouveau period (a personal favorite). The cut of the dress could almost come from that era, too... but lucky for you it was rendered in super light and durable 70s poly:

All of these pictures were taken in front of an immense red barn at Bridgeport. These days the barn houses an exhibit of the wagons used by the Pioneers. You should get a gander at these hulking Monsters of Transportation, which used to crawl along muddy roads on the sides of mountains, ford streams, and lumber over 10,000 foot passes... all pulled by horses. Modern man is a lazy, fearful critter by comparison to these swashbuckling 49ers!
Ahem, back to matters of a more delicate kind... Love the perfectly capped sleeves and beautifully pleated skirt on this cutie:
A dream dress made from the gauziest, lightest Indian cotton imaginable. Doesn't it sort of look like a cloud at sunset? ***ON RESERVE***
Um, hello cute. Someone must have handmade this back in the late 80s when all the hippie girls wore this style to the festivals. It is in fabulous condition and ready to live an adventurous life again:
Another soft, light-as-air, silky sari in the most delicate color scheme:
If you want to be a Greek Goddess or just look like one... girls, I've got your dress.
I know, you all have forgotten about sweaters all summer. Did you also forget how much fun they could be? I would almost call this a hoochie mamma sweater. But since when was crochet hoochie? Since I paired it with my jeans-which-are-really-tights, that's when! ***ON RESERVE***
White crochet just looks so darn good on a sweater. Can you believe I found this one and the one above on the same day? The Gods of Crochet are truly with me.
I think I'm going to call this one the "Boho Boyfriend Sweater". Or is that confusing? Cause I don't mean that your boyfriend gets to touch it at all, nuh-uh, even if it would fit him. Hand off, these bucks are for girls! ***ON RESERVE***
All will be in the shop by the wee hours of Wednesday morning. You know the drill-- if you fall in love with anything, give us a holler, and we'll reserve it for you!
***UPDATE-- PLEASE NOTE WHICH ITEMS HAVE ALREADY BEEN RESERVED, THEY NOTED IN THE DESCRIPTIONS.***
