California Dreamin'
This weekend I launched my Stay-cation (hooray!) with a trip up to Sierraville Hotsprings. My dear friend Linda, who is always up for an adventure, came along for the ride. The weather was amazing, cerulean blue skies and a light breeze carrying the scent of snow and raw granite from the Sierra Nevada mountains. At 5,000 feet, Sierraville is an Alpine Valley, protected from the harsher elements of winter, and thousands of birds call it home year-round. The hot spring is developed, and you can stay at the Main Lodge on the property, or at the Globe Hotel in the tiny town, as we did. It is one of the most affordable hot springs to visit in Northern California, so go ahead and be tempted...

...which they say is haunted. Why not?
Greenman doorknob- nice Pagan touch!
The town of Sierraville-- just like in the movie The Last Picture Show, it is a real Wild Western town with a single red blinking stoplight swaying above the intersection.
As we were watching, this Canadian Goose flew to the tippy top of this barn!
I feel like the hippie AAA Travel magazine! What do they say: "If you're going..." here's the link. Enjoy!
