We Like To Gather: A Solstice Photo Shoot & Dinner Party

From Amber

This weekend we were lucky enough to have Alela Diane model our awesome new scores for the Violet Folklore shop. Even though there was snow on the ground it was a sunny and fairly warm day. Check out some of the new stuff, some of which is already in the shop and the rest of which will be there shortly:

But the shoot wasn't all bidness, we had fun too! Alela helped Mycelia build a snowman in order to keep my very clingy girl (see first photo) busy and happy while mama was being photographed:

And then our friend Pete (one of Violet Folklore's favorite people) came to help my husband Graham make soup for a cozy, friendsy little dinner party:

Doesn't it look like we are from some creepy polygamous cult in the 1970s?

The soup turned out FABULOUSLY (Graham is a master flavor infuser and nutrient booster) and the company couldn't have been better. Aside from me, Sash, Graham, Mycie, and Pete there was Sasha's hubby Chris and Pete's friend Amanda. We drank lots of warming wine (including a sweet dessert wine Alela brought back from France!), ate soup, bread, and squash, and laughed far into the night, which was the longest of the year.

Happy Holidays!
